LITTLE BY LITTLE, SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION
In a recent work published in the renowned magazine Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers proved, scientifically, something that has been observed for some time both in natural habitats and captivity: the empathy and the sensibility of the chimpanzees.
Although it demonstrates the usual cold academicism, this work shows that, little by little, concepts that used to be restricted to human begin to be recognized also to chimpanzees.

Just like us, the presence of a friend/partner is essential to chimpanzees' welfare, which makes them to be considered as social beings and justifies our battle for them to live with their equals, far away from commercial exploitation and human entertainment.
It is worth to use an analogy: is it fair to confine a person, living imprisoned in a cage or in an enclosure exposed to public harassment? I am sure that the answer is negative. So, how could we justify doing this, in the 21st century, to our closest relatives?
