Emilio, the intellectual

SOROCABA SANCTUARY

Each chimpanzee – like humans – has his own characteristics. We use to distribute a lot of magazines for the chimpanzees in the sanctuary. Some enjoy them much more than others. There are some who are not even interested in them.

Maybe Emilio is the one who is more interested for the magazines. Here we can see some photos taken a few days ago at the Sanctuary School and it is possible to see Emilio sit in the bank and leafing through a magazine on the table. It is important to point that when he sees something he enjoys, he points to it with his finger. He also uses to come back to those photos that got more strongly his attention.

Sometimes, in the past, when we used to put a television with cartoons and animals programs, Emilio was also the one who spent more time in front of the TV, observing the images.

Emilio is in Guga’s group, who also likes magazines, but not with the same interest shown by Emilio.
