Bioqual: torture centre is closed

 After 30 years torturing chimps and other primates, the lab called BIOQUAL, in Rockville, Maryland, put an end in its experiments with chimpanzees after a complaint and an investigation that started months ago on account of violation of AWA (Animal Well Treatment Act).

At the laboratory, more than a dozen young chimpanzees kept in tiny cages and enclosures were still subjected to medical experiments. In 1997, the organization PETA conducted an investigation with hidden cameras and showed the atrocities that took place at a center for experimentation on primates. They resisted more than 15 years torturing primates, until now, when they ended up closing the research center.

The next place that should be closed is NEWS IBERIA RESEARCH CENTER, which still retains a large population of primates subjected to torture and totally unacceptable treatments.
