Zoo La Guarda welcomes chimpanzee Montse
GAP Project Spain, which was the first to denounce the precarious situation of this chimpanzee living with a family that rescued her when she was a baby maybe in a very risky trip from Ukraine, thanked the media of Spain, which helped to find a place for Montse to stay.
The 2,500 euros spent by the former owner of Montse to perform the shuttle, GAP Spain calls for it to be returned by the state and/or by CITES authority of Spain, which did nothing to solve this problem and only went into controversy when it was all solved.
Montse is isolated at the time, in a process of adaptation to be incorporated into a group of chimpanzees. This task is not easy and there are possibilities that it does not work, since she's practically a human being, for she had been created within a family and will hardly be a "chimp again."
Let's hope that everything goes well in this new phase of Montse’s life.
